Course overview
The Work and Study programme is the premier choice for non-EEA students keen to learn English abroad and launch a career in Ireland. This pathway is designed to bridge the gap between classroom excellence and professional experience, providing the legal framework to work in Europe while achieving total fluency.
Students enrolled in our Academic Year programmes are integrated into our General English Classic or Semi-Intensive courses, with the flexibility of morning or afternoon sessions. To ensure time to explore and immerse yourself in local life, students on this programme can take up to 10 weeks of holidays.
A critical component of this English language exam track is formal preparation. Non-EEA students must undertake a recognised exam for all long-stay courses (25+ weeks) in Ireland. If you choose the IELTS path, you will complete 13 weeks of General English followed by 12 weeks of IELTS Exam Preparation. For those opting for the TIE exam, you will study English for 25 weeks with access to free specialised workshops to ensure you are ready for your IELTS test or TIE equivalent.
This structured arrangement entitles you to obtain the Stamp 2 student visa for 8 months. Under this visa, you are legally permitted to work while studying part-time. Additionally, you can work full-time during your 10-week holiday period, specifically during the months of June, July, August, September, and the Christmas break. This programme offers the ultimate opportunity to study and work in one of the world’s most welcoming hospitality and business hubs.

* for students enrolled in the 20-hour programme, an additional weekly Elective session is included, focusing on building communicative and professional skills.
